Hi there,
Here is the lemon pound cake recipe I found on the internet but put my own twist to it.

My cupboard ingredients

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Half a lemon zest
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar

1 . Mix together 1 cup sugar and butter.
2 . Add eggs and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice; mix well.
My little twist: add half a lemon’s zest.
3 . Add salt, flour, and baking powder to mixture.
4 . Add milk.
5 . Bake at 325°F in a well greased loaf pan for 1 hour,or until golden brown.
6 . Mix 1/3 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup sugar.
7 . Use a toothpick to make holes in top of cake and drizzle lemon juice and sugar mixture over the top of the cake when removed from the oven.
8 . Serve warm or cool.

Hello all,

Some of you have messaged me to know how the tea party went.  Well it was lovely, the girls loved the idea!  And as not all my girlfriends were able to make it, I will for sure host another one soon.  A great excuse to try other recipes.
On the menu there was:

A lemon pound cake

A chocolate brownie

Orange flavoured madeleines

Biscuits and grapes

And of course a selection of various teas.

Here are some of my amateur shots quickly taken throughout the afternoon.

Coming up soon, the recipes for the madeleines and the lemon pound cake!

With the colder and wet weather settling in you need to find new fun ideas to spend time with your friends.
This Sunday, I am inviting a few friends over for a tea party.  So lots of sweet things currently baking in my oven!

I will post photos and recipes soon after.

The brownie is almost out of the oven…next up, lemon pound cake 😉
